I am interested in studying how carbon moves through microbial communities and the mechanisms by which it does so. I look into metabolomic data to trace the movement of isotopically-labeled carbon and nitrogen over time. I am also interested by how enzymes and their activity varies in sediments and how this effects the communities using those enzymes.
