USC Earth Sciences

I consider myself to be an analytical chemist with a passion for field work – land and sea. I gear my research towards trying to understand the interplay between microbial life and its environment. I am currently focused on studying enzyme structure and how it varies in the environment by using chemoproteomic techniques, such as activity-based protein profiling, and molecular dynamics simulations. I am also interested in geochemical perspectives on geomicrobiology by studying organic matter in a variety of environments using fluorescence spectroscopy.
